The work problem

Nestlé needed fast, consistent answers across brands and languages. According to the Salesforce customer story, more than half of consumer service cases arrived through digital channels such as email, chat and WhatsApp. As product and ingredient information kept changing, the challenge was to scale service without building a separate AI for each brand or adding manual work.

Technology and data

Nestlé embedded an Agentforce consumer service agent in Service Cloud. Through a connection that does not duplicate data, Data 360 reads product ingredient information in Snowflake and also supplies brand website content and service knowledge. If the agent cannot answer confidently or a consumer asks for a person, it hands over the conversation history to a service representative. In the same workspace, the representative receives conversation summaries, relevant material and suggested answers to continue the interaction.

Results

Salesforce said the agent autonomously resolved 40% of consumer inquiries in Nestlé pilots and earned a satisfaction rating of 4.8 out of 5 for agent-led interactions. It said the first agent launched in eight weeks and expansion into each country also takes eight weeks from preparation through technical deployment. These are pilot results, not a resolution rate for all consumer inquiries worldwide.

Limits and open questions

The source does not disclose pilot sample size, measurement period or country-level results. Ingredient-answer accuracy and company-wide service cost savings are also absent.
