Summary
Notion rebuilt its agent harness for the sixth time. Each session now runs on a dedicated service with a queue-backed worker loop, so a task keeps going through restarts and can run for more than 24 hours, up from five minutes. The company says its Auto model router delivers results similar to frontier models at about 90% lower cost (Notion's own measurement). Admins also get usage dashboards, spending limits, and a separate safety-check mode.
Why it matters for our work
Knowledge workers can now hand longer research and organizing tasks to agents instead of only short prompts. Built-in cost and permission controls should make team-wide adoption easier to justify.
